My main goal is to mark a spot in my inboxes where I am now, and not fall behind. When my life slows down again, I’ll start working through the backlog.
My mega hotmail account is now clean. The inbox has 3 pages of messages (Nov, Dec, things I’m intentionally keeping) and I even cleaned out most of the folders. Now I’m working on yahoo. It has 1143 messages; I’m not sure what it had when I first began the cleaning. One thing annoying about yahoo is that it doesn’t have page tabs so I can’t log in and instantly go to page 7 to work (for example). I have to click next until I reach the page I’m seeking.
Lately, I’ve been working on my mega hotmail account. I’m making progress. I’ve deleted old mail from July-October 2007. I’m down to 97 total messages, 13 new as of now. I think it’d be wise for me to go through the previous month; maybe that will keep my numbers down (e.g., in December, go through and delete all Nov. entries). No, make that two months back. Nov. 25 is too soon for a Dec. 5 clean out. Sometimes, I intentionally hold on to things for a few weeks. The problem is, I don’t go back to delete them. I’m down to 4 pages of messages from something like 17. Progress.
ahhh, now i feel so much better. i found email for people i wish weren’t in there and emails that made me laugh. but i kept all the good ones and deleted the ones i hate. deleted a total of 300 + emails!

My new plan was not to fall farther behind, at least until I have some free time to deal with it again. I was doing well for a few days, but in the last couple days I’ve begun to fail miserably, despite my sincere efforts.
I chose two of my email accounts, and set the maximum at the current levels in each—4500 in one, and 8100 in the other. On the account I use for 43T, I’m only about 12 over, and with just a little more time I could get it back to 4500 without much trouble. But on the other one… Holy Cow, I’m drowning. I have really, really been trying and I’m already over by 42 emails, in just a couple of days. None of them would be quick to file or delete, they’re simply things that have to be read and/or responded to.
Sigh.

or at least forward all your various email boxes into one box. That make it much easier to keep up with. and check at least twice a day, including responding.
