When I was lost on the windy roads by my local beach I stumbled upon one. I loved the scene it was so antique even the people were antique I was penniless though but the stuff was all spread out and so many amazing things. A lot of people there were collectors furniture dealers and store owners, few were like me just hoping to find some neat vintage clothes or items for a buck (that I didn’t have at the time).
Last one I went to I looked in the paper for and went to one in the very ornate area of my town and I came out with this clochey-bonnety kind of hat that was pink and had beading on it also a gold-yellow wrap hat and an old tennis racket. 4 years ago

Where do you find out about estate sales? Do they occur often? 4 years ago

I’ve talked to thrift store owners and antique shop owners (Getting the inside scoop since I will one day have my own boutique where I will sell rare finds and vintage clothes!) and their biggest secret is the estate sale!
My mom described it to me as after one dies, their family takes what they want and leaves everything else for sale and people go throught their home collecting what they like… It’s like going through grandmas closet only you are going through other people’s grandmother’s closets!! Hopefully this gandmother was a world traveler and wealthy and a collecter and a fashionista! 4 years ago
