We’ve lived here for almost six years, and haven’t taken the time to put up curtains. After all, we had planned to buy our own place sooner than later.
Now that the truth is settling in, we’ve decided to settle in a big and make the place “ours.”
I bought curtains on sale the other day and my husband hated them. So I’m going to let him buy and install them on his own, to his own specs! He has until our anniversary in May before I buy the ones I like and install them.

but thanks to my lack of common sense, i made the length of the curtain rod (it’s retractable) shorter than the length of the window! so you can still see through my window. ugh!
i’m not going to fix it because i’d have to remove the fixtures and whatnot and knowing me it’ll take me another month to fix and will be a big mess. :(

today’s goal was to finish hemming my curtains so i could put them up, but that didn’t happen. i just forced myself to trim the edges of the fabric and cut it in half. tomorrow i will sew, sew, sew. i’m slow to start and slow to finish. :(

Got these beautiful Japanese style blinds. They look amazing and make my house look enormous and very stylish indeed. They’re great!

Here it is. It was $6 a yard. I read somewhere that Jackie O bought fabric on Orchard St. and my tailor is on Stanton and Orchard. Last week I was getting stuff taken in at the tailors and I asked the guy where I should buy fabric. He pointed me to a place next door and five minutes later my debit card was out and I had a big package in my arms. Now I just have to put up hardware and sew these things.
