Which I'll probably do via videotape 1 year ago

Honestly, I don’t need the spotlight, and I’m realistic about the chances that I’ll be chosen to be on such a program. But don’t you think I’d make an excellent mob member on 1 vs. 100? Unfortunately, it looks like I can only audition to be a contestant.

I think I’d actually stick to the shows that air on the Game Show Network (to include Lingo, Camouflage, and Chain Reaction). Oh, and Merv Griffin’s Crosswords. That one’s kind of odd—all they have is an e-mail sign-up form, and then you get the somewhat ominous message that “someone from the show will be in touch with you shortly.” I filled this form out at 1:13 AM on a Saturday night. I’ll be really creeped out if my phone rings in the next ten minutes.

Nevertheless, this is considerably better than the website for Duel, which includes (literally) 40 short essay questions on its application. It’s kind of like a MySpace survey mixed with a job application. For example, see question 21: “If you were a rat in a maze of mirrors, would you more likely get dizzy and accept defeat or would you overcome the task? Explain your answer.”
