learn how to properly record music with my computer

I love to sing, and act, so this will be great for me!!! I love the person who came up with this site!

I have recorded a few songs over the past few months. I actually find that the music comes easy, but the polish on the sound requires the “80% effort”.

It’s been Months on top of Months, and I have gotten nothing accomplished. I think I would actually get somewhere if i knew how to play the Piano or something. Music isn’t supposed to be just nothing but slapped together samples, like i was trying to do. I need a melody. Without a Piano, I can’t record a melody. I need a pro’s help, but I need to find a Pro first…

I don’t even know where to begin for christ’s sake…

i have a crapload of sound samples, drumloops, and a little recording software. i’m going to see if i can put 2 & 2 and 2 together to do something interesting. we’ll see what happens.

I want to be able to plug my amp into the computer to record basslines. It shouldn’t be too difficult—just need to figure out the right cords, connectors, and software, right? Then I want to learn the software to record multiple tracks, figure out some basic drum loops, etc.
