Started today! 1 month ago

Well, this morning I went out for a 15 minute walk with my baby on the stroller, but five minutes into the walk he started to fuss and then cried. I returned to the house, with only eight minutes of walking.

I plan on walking next Monday. This time I’ll take my son in a sling carrier…

Liquid diet 2 months ago

Before you judge me, I have back surgery in early October.

Slimfast and protein boosted smoothies are the route I’m taking now, which allows me to control my intake of fat and complex carbs, for two meals. Snacks are non-starchy fruits and vegetables, with nuts. I usually have a regular dinner.

It’s not perfectly followed, but it will have to do for now. I still am active and exercising as pain allows.

Lost all pregnancy weight already 2 months ago

Yesterday they weighed me in at the doctor’s office, and my new weight is 158 lbs!! I couldn’t believe it. I am already weighing a few pounds less than what I already weighed at the beginning of my pregnancy! I’ve heard and read a few times that breastfeeding on demand makes you lose weight fast, but I didn’t know it would be THAT fast!

I’m actually very happy because I was already overweight by the time I got pregnant. I want to be around 125 lbs. again, so that’s a bit over 30 more pounds to lose. I still have three more weeks to go until my doctor gives me the green light to start exercising… Can’t wait!

26 pounds off in just a week!!!! 3 months ago

I had a small but very healthy boy last Friday, July 31… He weighed 5 lbs. 8 oz. and was 18 in. tall. During my second visit to my ob-gyn yesterday morning (August 7), I had dropped from 194 lbs. since my last visit before having baby (which was the day before baby was born) to 168 lbs. yesterday. A total of 26 lbs. in just over a week! That’s almost all my pregnancy weight (I gained 28/29 lbs.)!!!



Don't want to old, fat, and bald...or at least fat! 3 months ago

I’m approaching 53 years of age… I am considering doing the Xterra and/or the Markleeville Death Ride as a goal to get in shape. Hmmmmmm, maybe the National Snowshoe Racing Champoinships?

I am utterly disgusted with myself and need to drop some pounds before snowboard season!

Not losing, but not gaining a lot either... 3 months ago

Even though this is not the time to lose weight, because of my pregnancy, I can say with relief that I have been able to put on around 20 lbs. only, and I’m on my eighth month! So far so good! And that’s mainly by walking as much and eating as healthy as I can (of course, I’m no saint; I’ve been known to eat a Baconator combo at Wendy’s and drinking coffee in the mornings, but not anymore…). My pecadillos now include eating bakery pastries once in a while, and sipping a bit of Coke when hubby is having his glass. I’m restricting my salt/sodium intake as much as I possibly can. That means ABSOLUTELY NO EATING OUT! The great news is, it gets easier and easier with each passing day. The key is to FOCUS on the day at hand, not zero in on the “deprivation” of the weeks and months to come.

Until I have my baby and go through the post-partum phase, I can’t think of losing weight. But I do have a plan. Right now I’m exercising (mostly walking) so I don’t gain too much weight during my pregnancy. However, I am not restricting myself from eating when I want to. The baby needs the calories

I went on a diet, swore off drinking & heavy eating,& in 14 days I had lost exactly two weeks. asks, “I use stairs,takin' 3 steps at a time,for ma cardio workout for abt 30 mins 4x a week,BUT they say prolonged use of stairs may lead to kidney failure.how far is this true?shall i stop this kind of cario workout?help me”
