tarlia will be adding new goals to her list

Last Wednesday, I decided to take both core strength classes – the body weight one and kettlebell immediately after. I survived.

Our coach told me to take it easy in the second class, but I like pushing the envelope so I did nearly everything.

The muscle ache that lingered for the rest of the week reminds me of my first class. It like, “Hello, old friend!” because I haven’t been feeling much beyond the next day.

Now I need to work on my cardio, which is rather tragic.

Stairs master 4 months ago

On Monday evening, I climbed an intimidating set of stairs after a long day of walking and was not even winded. I had nothing to eat since breakfast too.

Fizfit Core Strength 5 months ago

One month into core strength classes and I’m pleased to report that I’m feeling excellent. I’m not superhero level yet, but I’m feeling a lot better than I used to be.

The first class left me in pain for four days, but once that is over, it left me wanting more. This is intense and brutal, but it’s addictive. Go figure.

At the same time, it gives me a bit more energy to burn so I signed up for bellydance class in February in addition to core. So that’s gonna be two classes for me per week.

Sooooo excited!

I’ve been completely slack about this goal this year, but I’m resuming belly-dancing very soon and will probably take up something else in addition.

This is just a more specific want under a general header of “live healthy”. I feel tired a lot and no amount of sleeping cures that. I know it’s true that being physically active actually increases your energy rather than drain it!

Shedding a few pounds won’t hurt. I normally don’t care about looks, but my back is beginning to suffer. Not cool.

just came back from the gym. 10 months ago

treadmill and interval training. suprisingly the workout wasnt as tiring!

Going to keep track on treadmill. 13 months ago

I can stay on the treadmill for 30 mins, but thats just interval training. Though every 2 weeks, I’m going to try and last longer by raising it up by 5 mins. I’ll be happy to reach one hour. And I’ll start jogging outside as well.

consider it done 16 months ago

i’m going to consider this done. my days are less groggy than they were four months ago, and seem to be getting better the more exercise i do. saturdays are much less of a challenge. springtime should just expand the amount of biking and tai chi i do, and should see me coming to life with the trees and flowers.

biking 17 months ago

i’ve been doing a lot more biking since i got my folding bike, and i’m amazed at the effect. there’s something remarkably invigorating about biking, more than walking. when i get back from an errand run, i’m wide awake and alert. when i’m having a sluggish day, a trip to the library and back seems to turn me around.

biking 17 months ago

biking seems to be helping. now that i have my folding bike, i’m pedaling around on a more regular basis, and feel more awake/less fatigued when i get home. paradoxically, adding bike travel to my saturday routine seems to be leaving me less exhausted instead of more so. there’s something invigorating about a bike ride, more than a walk.
