resolution for next year. I’m dedicated to making this happen, but only if it would put us in a better situation.
How I did it: I've been wanting to move to California for years, but ended up having to move to Pittsburgh first so I could persue another goal of mine (becoming a make-up effects artist) by going to one of the top schools in the nation. It feels so nice moving here knowing I did it right by going to the school I needed to first and then coming here. Plus, I met Christian (my amazing boyfriend) along the way. A lot of saving, a lot of planni… Read how I did it…

How I did it: I finally understood the meaning of courage. It took one very special person (although he probably doesn't even know it) just a few months to flip my world upside down. I had to lose him to gain myself. But after I found myself, I understood the meaning of real courage. It is going after what you desire the most. It is not being afraid to curl up in a ball and cry your eyes out. It is not being afraid to tell people, "this is what I want.… Read how I did it…

How I did it: Gave myself a timeline when I must do it! Shared my consideration to move and the plans I was to follow to get it done.Expressed to my parents about what I've reflected from my situations and how I want to change it.Got my parents blessings to venture into "the wild" of Cali; supposedly for a short time.I packed, bought a 1 way ticket, and moved! How I did it: My parents got tired of New York and wanted to move somewhere else. I suggested California. I explained that California was more family-friendly and there was more cool places to visit. Luckily, my dad got a job there and we moved. We moved to Turlock, a small town a few hours away from San Francisco. California was a lot different but I liked it. Turlock was perfect because it was pretty close to San Francisco, Los Angelos, Yosemite Nati… Read how I did it…

I miss CA. It’s like an ache in my chest and a tightness in my throat. I went to a local yoga class, which seems to remind me of what I’m missing.

may be able to deploy with a unit from CA. That might allow us to get a foothold there.

babushka-like. I have a scarf wrapped around my head. It’s so cold in the house that I’ve gone to anything that provides a slight bit more warmth. Ready to move. I’m tired of feeling cold.
I’m now officially living in California and it feels fantastic! Christian and I got all the stuff moved into our little place (with the help of some movers). It felt really fantastic. We’ve already started unpacking boxes and later we will be buying some new furniature to make sure everthing has a place in our new home. We really love it. It’s a very nice home.
I’ve become such a cleaning organizational nerd that I spent most of last night cleaning all the cupboards geeking out over how efficiently they use storage space in the apartment. With pantries and double rung closets and little cubbies everywhere in the closets, everything is going to find a nice little home out of site and out of mind. :)
Next step? Finding a job… oh and actually getting internet in our apartment so I don’t have to come down and use the complex’s computer room every time I want to check my email. :S

I have always had the dream of living “the good life” in California, and me and my BF are planning on moving there within the next 2 years!
I am looking to move to California from the UK and I wanted to know how I go about this?
I have applied online for my tempary work visa for a year and passed online but I have to go for an interview at the American embassy.
I work in TV as a sound engineer but I am also looking to set up another company from my home as well.
Has any one got any advise about the hole move and protocol I have to go through?
