Start donating blood again

I need to start doing this again, as it’s been a couple of years since I last did this. I’ve now registered with my nearest service, so should be able to do this within the next couple of weeks.

The blood bank comes around to our offices every 2 to 3 months and I’ve donated the last two times they were there. They call you the day before to remind you as well, so that will definitely help me to keep this up.

It helps me if I can feel like I’m doing some good…

I gave blood today, for the first time since 2001. All the water I’ve been drinking lately really helped – my donation time was quick!

March 20th i’m eligable again.

Yesterday I gave blood after work at a local church. Not bad at all, though my arm is a little sore today. I’m proud of myself, though I know its no big deal. I was slower than usual too. Oh well, I’m happy I did it. I’ll get a CT card instead of MA one in the mail, and then they’ll hound me for more O neg goodness.

I haven’t given blood in almost a year. Maybe even longer. I used to at every drive while I was living on campus, but last year I didn’t because it was a long walk and could only do it during the day. OK, so I just made excuses really.
Anyway, Monday the 23rd, at 5:30, at a local church I’ll be donating again.
I’ll call this goal done once i give twice, once doesn’t seem quite fair as an end to me.

Well.. I sort of donated blood, I guess. I work in an open-air museum and last week a jounalist came to interview me on folkmedicine and lore in the 19th century. She needed pictures so I was obliged to feed the resident leech. Hed grown so big that none of my coworkers felt up to it.. He dug into me and fell off ten minutes later, full of my blood. Because of the anticoagulants he injected i bled like a stuck pig for four hours..

pissed me off. Swedish bloodbanks no longer accept blood from bisexual individuals. What the f* is that about?! If im a woman sleeping with another woman the risk of contamination is actually smaller! They should be promoting lesbianism. But. As it is im engaged to a man who is also a blood-donor. Does that not make me Jon-sexual? Ive also got a pretty weird bloodtype and i suspect they just keep my blood frozen until it goes stale and then throw it out along with all the amputated limbs and appendixes.
