Chicken chasing in more interesting than you think, you got to think like a chicken. Just a tip for future chicken chasers.  — 3 weeks ago

Learn to turn on the run. Learn to laugh and have fun. Learn to catch with just one hand, learn to play flute in a two person band. Learn to carve wood in the middle of the night. learn to kill chickens when in flight. swim in the nude when you have the chance. Grab every opportunity to discover romance. Learn to cheat at cards by shuffling the deck. Never kill a chicken by wringing it’s neck. Never let your memories be longer than dreams. Remember, all that you see is not what it seems. Chickens deserve better!!!

The goal now is to study Portuguese for 3 hours a week.

Becoming fluent just seems too far away, so breaking it up into little steps should help!

i really want to become fluent in portuguese  — 8 months ago

i really want to become fluent in portuguese because i would love to visit portugal and brazil.

One of my good friends is Brazillian.  — 1 year ago

He moved up North but we’ve remained close friends and I mail to him and everything. It’d be kinda cool to talk to his mom in Portuguese, because he says she likes me.

    I'm a bit crazy...  — 1 year ago

but I really do love languages and would like to learn as many as possible. Portuguese is spoken by a lot of people, and seeing as how I’d love to spend lots of time in Brasil in the future, it would be very practical to learn.

One thing that’s sort of funny about leaning more than one language at once: I have this tendency to substitute words from other languages in if I don’t know the necessary words in the language I happen to be speaking in… for example I’d be speaking in french, but substituting words in from japanese, and it would happen without my thinking too much about it. Very bizarre (and confusing) to say the least.

The beginning  — 1 year ago

I dug up my old text book and will try to start refreshing myself. There are also some Brasilian student in our lab so I will try to get up the courage to speak to them in portuguese. I can read and write a little but it is all rusty. As for speaking I always get nervous about it because I know how I am supposed to sound and how I don’t even come close.
