not knowing the correct words to say can turn a perfect phrase into a disasterous social moment, or just a ‘blah boring expression’. With communication becoming increasingly important and the process in which actual interaction is being simplified through cellphones, text messaging, online instant messaging, chat boards and what-not. . .it’s important to not forget the basics. I’m not a fantastic speller, and haven’t yet mastered the theories behind english grammar, among some things~ knowing sentence structures. which is a bit ironic knowing I like to spend time on sites like ‘43things’. I guess it’s also embarassing that I haven’t given my native language more care in preserving it’s culture by paying more attention to it’s rules. . . exercising various words, and letting go of overused words, pop culture slang. . . though I’m on the right track, have invested in a five buck thesaurus and a seven something book on slang packed with trivia and definitions, just cuz it sounded like a fun. . . or marvelous, uninhibiting, catching or implorious. . . idea. (ohhh gooosh—yes—‘rolling the eyes’)
... espacially the one of the country you want to move to.
I already have a great vocabulary, but since the most pupils in my class haven’t, I’m not really learning a lot of new words in school…
I think I have to buy a book…
