This has been a goal for me for the last 8 years! Hoping 2009 is my year in idaho. Finishing my last half of the summer in a few weeks and going to rest for a month or two and lift alot. Planning on starting training in january!

I’ve done a super-sprint tri. This year I’m going to do a Sprint and Olympic distance tri. Next year I will attempt a half-iron man. The year after…..Iron-man!!!!
This is a longer term goal. I have several things I need to complete first.
1) Overcome my running injury
2) Start running long distances again
3) Run another marathon
4) Start swimming
5) Complete a short triathlon
debradonkel Is thinking about being my best.
Ever since I watched Julie Moss in 1982 crawl across the finish line I’ve wanted to complete an Ironman triathlon. Julie’s determination was fascinating.
Doing my first triathlon this weekend. Merryl Lynch Race for Sight Triathlon in Columbia, MO. 400 meter swim, 14 mile bike ride, 3 mile run. I’m mainly focusing on finishing since it’s my first tri’ but I wouldn’t be too upset if I won my age group either. I threw down a pretty mean brick last week and I feel confident about being able to do well.
Edit (5-06-07): Did the race today. Won my age age group! Super-pumped!
I’ve been wanting to start doing triathlons for some time now but have never gotten around to it… track season is in the way, torn ACL, etc. etc.
Well, track season is going horrible and I’ve decided to quit and do the triathlon thing. My first du is in a month and I’ll take my first crack at a sprint distance in two. My goal for this year is to do well at age-group competition and and junior nationals and complete some international distance events (maybe even a half-IM if everything goes well.)
I won’t be doing an ironman this year but my goal is to do one before I graduate college so I’ve got another four years. Wish me luck!
The day starts out like any other day in your life, but by the time the clock strikes midnight, you will have become a different person whether you finished or not.
Just remember that 16:59:59 is all that it takes to get to your goal…...........
I have completed some sprint and olympic distance events and have also completed some duathlons and my first marathon. I am hoping to take my shot at the Ironman distance in 2008 at the Ironman USA event in Lake Placid, NY.
I have to complete sprint-distance and Olympic-distance triathlons first, and do a whole lot of training. So, I’m looking at 2008 or 2009, I think.
