At my height, 200 lbs is the point where I’m no longer overweight. I want to do this for my health.

Weighed in this morning at 198 and change! Now if I can just keep it down, I’m golden. Time for a new goal weight: 190. Looks a long way off from here, but I’ll give myself about 6 weeks to meet it. Should be possible.

My final weigh-in for this “Personal Challenge” is Friday morning. I’m optimistic about my chances. Granted, I’ve given myself until the 22nd, but I won’t have access to a scale over the weekend, so Friday is going to have to be IT (unless I can find a scale to use on Saturday or Sunday). Hopefully I’ll have dropped past the 200 lbs mark by Friday, anyway. This Sunday is my birthday, and I anticipate both a lapse from my new veggie diet and a little over-eating. Self-control, it’s all about self-control!

Last Friday I weighed 204.5 lbs, today I weighed in at 201.25 lbs. So I’m down, basically, to the last pound. Technically I want to be under 200, so I’ll say a pound and a half. I’ve lost about three pounds in the last week, let’s see if I can drop that last one and a half by next Friday.

Ah, I remember the days when my abs were not engulfed by a layer of blubber. When I graduated high school (1999), I weighed about 180. Over the years, I’ve packed on the pounds, peaking at about 235-240 in the summer of 2007. In the last six months I’ve made a lot of changes in my eating habits, activity, and attitude. I’ve dropped about thirty pounds. Right now I’m at 204.
Ideally, I’d like to get down to the 80’s again – 185 would probably be a good goal. But for now I’m going to take it in gradual steps. I’d like to drop the last four pounds and get down to 200 or under.
I’ve made this my current “personal challenge,” and I’m giving myself until my birthday (June 22) to drop the weight. So for the next two weeks I’m going vegeterian and giving up junk food (chips, candy, chocolate bars, ice cream) completely.
If I make it to 200 or under by my birthday, I’m going to go start a lease (or finance) a new car. If I don’t… well, I’ll just delay buying the car until I do.
I’m going to try to add in a little extra exercise each day as well. Hopefully I can blast off these last few pounds… then I’ll start making my way towards 190. But one step at a time.
