    To Begin 4 weeks ago
Last night, I followed this sequence:
    1. Had some herbal tea after dinner.
    2. Put several things away that were decluttering the living room and bedroom.
    3. Prepared my snacks for tomorrow.
    4. Put on my puffy bathrobe.
    5. Brushed, flossed, and rinsed.
    6. Washed my face and applied moisturizer.

I guess the beautiful part is the tea, the puffy bathrobe, and the personal care; the tranquility was the peace of mind that resulted from what needed to be done (putting things away, preparing snacks).

I usually manage to have a chai and practice guitar, and sometimes a bath with candles if I’m feeling luxurious

I like this new routine but have still not incorporated the bath. I think I will have to wait on this part until my kitten is big enough to move to another room. There would be nothing peaceful about a bath with him trying to get into the bathtub with me. He is adorably distracting enough when I am taking my shower each morning.

As for the rest, it’s all good.

I haven’t worked the candlelit bath in yet, but I am doing most of the other steps. We’ll see how it goes as I implement the full routine.

Okay, here's the routine 5 months ago

For a tranquil evening routine, I thought this would work well for me, beginning about 1 1/2 hours before bedtime:

    • Jot down thoughts/concerns on my mind so I can let them go.
    • Brush & floss teeth
    • Wash and moisturize face
    • Bath with soothing music and candles
    • Say goodnight to cats
    • Take medicine
    • Check to make sure alarm is set
    • Read Bible
    • Pray
    • Do crosswords
    • Listen to quiet music
    • Fall asleep

Now I just need to implement this. I will begin tonight.

I think this will help me sleep better 5 months ago

I have a lot of problems getting to sleep and staying asleep. I’m not sure if having a beautiful tranquil evening routine will help me stay asleep, but I certainly think it would help me get to sleep. I’ll work on it.

Put baby to bed (dinner, bath, story, song)
Clean dishes, dry dishes, and put away
    Clean sink
Set out breakfast (bowls, and cereal)

    New thing to add:
Start planning clothes for the next day!

    well,... 15 months ago

my current evening routine consists of watching tv, watching tv and watching tv.
and maybe there’s currently nothing to be done since i watch olympics.
but it would be nice to…
    - meditate as soon as i get home
    - prepare next meal and lunch boxes for next day
    - lay out clothes for next day
    - rest, enjoy, read something
    - eat
    - rest
    - go for a walk while it’s nice cold outside
    - and then watch some tv and go to bed early
but it can wait 2 more weeks…
