UCLA is the only UC with a nursing program. If I don’t get in, i’m fine going to a CSU.

Went to UCSD before it was cool. Went in with computer science intentions; came out with literature degree. College transmogrifies you.
...and I will have attained this goal. I got admitted into the Creative Writing program at UCR.
I’m pretty psyched! =)
This is a hard one, being that I’m Norwegian and not eligible for most scholarships. Also, college is free in Norway, so this is really expensive compared to my other option. The out of state tuition is also pretty much killing me, and the prospected costs for one year at a UC is $40.000. I’m currently a foreign exchange student in Westlake Village, CA, and i really want to come back, so if anyone knows anything about scholarships for international students, or maybe for a 22’ long jumper – tell me about it.
i can’t decide between santa cruz, davis, or irvine. (i got into all. yippee!) i had my heart set on san diego and i’m appealing but when i researched it, people seem to like santa cruz best and even davis and irvine are above sd. but anyway.. this goal shall be achieved soon! :]
I went to UC Davis and I loved it. Just dive in to your college experience, don’t be shy, it’s over far too quickly!
I went to UCSB and it was great! The best part is that after I started going there we got like 3 nobel laureates and the science department just exploded. Unfortunately I left the physical sciences for social science, but it still makes my UCSB degree look even better. It’s a much more prestigious school than it was when I went. And most UCs continue to be on an upward trend so they are definitely great schools to go to.
i went to ucdavis, and i’ll be honest with you. i had a great time BUT the entirety of your college experience (or grad experience) depends on how much you make out of it. you could always just go through the motions, but if you don’t take the time to do anything interesting or outside of your major/comfort zone, you might as well just go anywhere.
the UCs are challenging for some, easy for others (i’m in the challenged group, natch), but it can be boring or hard, and it’s up to you.
btw: Davis is the so-called “hick” campus because it’s out there in the boonies, but there were plenty of opportunities to “network” and have fun, especially on weekends. don’t get caught up in the glamour of the bigger UCs…other UCs have tons to offer as well. nothing beats central cali in the spring and fall. ;-)
