I used to play in high school. I wasn’t any good, but I kind of started to pick up the game. It’s been about 3 years since I played seriously. I started playing, just hitting balls a couple of weeks ago, and man did I suck. I started to get a hang of it again last week, but it’s been a week since I played. I’m going to do a better job of practicing at least 3 times a week. I’m not expecting to be the next Roger Federer, but I want to go back to college and be able to hit a few balls or even play a few matches with people out there on the courts. I don’t like making an ass out of myself out there.

I haven’t played since a year and a half a go, but I want to play a sport at school and not give up, maybe I’ll do track instead, but I hate running. I like tennis, I’ve played on and off since I was nine. I’m not the best, I can’t really do an overhand serve. I just really want to get better.
I get way too nervous when I play matches apart from doubles and I just need to get over it!!!
It’s that horrible sick feeling at the bottom of my stomach and I know that most people get that and its like there adrenaline but it for it just seems to make my body freeze. Gahh!!!
I have been slacking with my tennis, and it doesn’t help after coaches leaving and the club being slow to get a new one. I don’t like the current coach and he doesn’t like me. He plays favourites with another one of the girls when coaches are meant to be ‘on the fence’ for all everyone, or at least keep their opinions to themselves.
I suppose I just need to get better with my fitness and become stronger mentally.

This year I decided to get into tennis because it looks like an awsome sport to play during higschool yet even thought it was my first year i made it to varsity because there wasnt enough people to make a jv team so they had to put me there. and i lost EVERY single match i played in doubles and i felt as if i let the team down. Now i want to get better and be able to go to the finals and win for the first time and make the coach proud
Played two sets this weekend – one win and one loss. Could not get the serve going, and overall feel sluggish.
I feel the ball better, I move better, I learned a lot about doubles play and have had success in doubles matches. My serve is more consistent, my forehand became a weapon. My backhand has been stagnant, but I still can surprise the opponent – and usually myself – with a quick crosscourt angle. Most importantly, I enjoy tennis more – whether in practice or in a match.
I still need to work on consistency, serve, power, movement, concentration and not getting frustrated/showing frustration so easily.
Winter’s coming around :-( Like any tennis player, I hate this time of year. I always get a little depressed because I can’t play nearly as much tennis as I would when it’s sunny.
Even San Diego, where it’s supposed to be sunny outside all the time, brings its share of showers. Watching the rain, what is a tennis nut like me to do?
I’m gonna conduct a little experiment that I’m going to blog about. I know, I know…this sounds little crazy, but when the precipitation pours, you gotta do something. Yes, that’s right, I’m going to try out tennis hypnosis. If I can’t practice outside, I’ll practice in my mind. They say it does wonders.
I’ll be listening to this tennis hypnosis mp3 which claims to improve my game even if I don’t practice as much. We’ll see about the power of suggestion!
I’ll come back with an update. We’ll see how well this works.
Cheers!

Well, I’ve been “playing” almost everyday for the last couple weeks. I laugh at the word “playing” because I suck! My balls (when actually hit) are flyin high and sometimes even over to the other court. How embarrassing! I have gotten so out of shape that I can’t even make it to balls 3 ft away… I just stand there and watch them go by. This is a goal that will take me awhile, but I do feel a lot better knowing that I am getting involved in an old favorite past time and getting in better shape.
this site is retarted everyone here is retarted do the world a favor and jump off a very tall building retards
