Stitch is returning from the Dark Side that is Facebook
A year later
I’ve decided to give up my boycot of Time Warner and get my internet connection restored. I know this is hard to believe, but they didnt go out of business without my 29.95 a month. Go figure.
Was this self imposed exile worth it. Of course not.
Short of moving to a cabin in the woods, growing a beard, wearing lots of flannel and starting my manifesto I’d taken this about as far as I could with little or no results.
Thats not true, I got wonderful results. Right after I gave the customer service rep my credit card number. My service was on in ten minutes. Bastards!

I just got off the phone with Earthlink. They said I could expect my refund about the same time a flying monkey shoots out of my arse.
On a related note, the board at Time Warner had a meeting last month and released to the press that they were in fact not going to go broke without Stitch’s 93 bucks.
With that in mind, about three weeks ago I went ahead and gave the bastards at Time Warner their ransom money. So, why do I not have internet service? Ahh, its complicated.
Last year right before the solstice…I mean Christmas I fell asleep at my desk. No big deal, right? Problem was I had a space heater going and I sort of slow roasted my left ankle. Being a guy I thought…Hmmm…Neosporin! And threw one of those big square band aid things on it. Little did I know that under all that dead and dying skin my ankle bone was sticking out.
After a few days the mother hens at work made me go to the doctor who sent me to the ER, who sent me to the KU Burn Center. They spent the next 6 months treating my thrid degree burn and kept my foot from rotting off and healed me up without a skin graph.
Here is the complicated part. From a moral standpoint, can I owe the hospital money and sleep well at night knowing I’m spending 80 bucks for cable and internet? I say no. Thus, I still have
no internet.
As much as it kills me (compound interest is your best friend!) I’ve decided to go see Matt the Money Man and just write KU a check. Besides, without the social interaction of 43things and the role playing game I’ve been addicted to for about 10 years the neighborhood kids have started calling me Boo Radley.

Im back at war with my ISP. I’ve still not received the credit from them double billing me and now they say I owe them 50 bucks. Fifty bucks that nobody can seem to explain, other than I owe it!
I’m done.
Anyone that wants to keep in contact, feel free to shoot me a message here. I’m keeping open this account and will post from time to time from work. But as far as internet at home…I’m done!
The current betting says this will last about 2 weeks.
