I want to hit the road, head to Canada, aim for Newfoundland, and drive until the road ends, which according to Google Maps is somewhere called Natashquan; or Happy Valley-Goose Bay on the shore of Lake Melville.

Although I have not yet visited Newfoundland, I have met so many friendly folks originally from there, that it makes me want to visit. And I love beautiful scenery. Perhaps if I visit, I might not want to leave!
While I was there I saw caribou in the tundra. I watched the whales. I saw moose coming out of the forest to drink from a salt spring. don’t ask.
I saw thousands of birds that are rarely seen. I watched a row of puffins fly from a stone mountain in the sea to the edge of a cliff, walk along and take their turn in flying back down to a rock island far below.
I experienced the music. What incredible music! I learned about the culture and the food. It was such an eyeopening experience.
I even saw a few iceburgs!

Juniper2 asks,
“What places in western Newfoundland are the most interesting to visit? Is it necessary to have reservations in advance for a campsite in the National Park?”
