Not today or tomorrow — 1 week ago
School started for Jordan today, and for Jalen tomorrow. I’ll catch up on sleep and go for Wednesday. Good going, though.

Last night I took Nyquil for what seems to be the beginnings of a cold (3 days now). I woke a little sleepy/groggy, but refreshed enough to get to work by 8:05. Cheers for me! Yay. My early morning time allowed me to do my EWJ (End of Week Journaling) on the train. I mostly journaled about my artwork and a few things to do at work today. But that’s fine. It doesn’t really matter where I journal (on notepad/notebook, on my Edge of the Creek online journal, my 43 Things online blog or whatever) as long as I do it. I rarely go back and read much anyway. And as long as I get things down, then the theraputic purpose is served. Things I want to retain, I’ll rewrite in the appropriate location.
Great way to start the day. Rise early (6am or earlier), get up, get moving, get dressed and ready to start the day.
YESSSS!
11.30 AM this morning :)
1 and a half hours earlier than usual.
10.30 is my next step.
Before I go back to school, I want it to be 6.
I NEED to do this one.
I’m going to bed really late (around 2 to 3 in the morning) and I think it’s stuck with me. I can’t get into bed earlier because I don’t feel tired. For example, if it’s about 12 and I go to bed, it feels like I am going to bed at 7 so I’ll get up and watch TV or so something to keep myself busy.
That also means I don’t get up before 2 in the afternoon, which I hate because it means my whole day is practically gone.
I would love to get up earlier and exercise, have a shower, have breakfast etc, instead of getting up and doing nothing all day.
I’m setting four alarms for 10 tommorrow.
I’m not quite at the 5:00am mark yet, but on a good note – I’ve stopped hitting the snooze button. When the alarm goes off, I get up. I am making a huge effort to get to bed at a decent hour and it’s been a major factor in 1) getting the amount of sleep I need and 2) getting everything done in the morning that I need to make it out on time. It’s a lot less stressful.
Because of my situation at the mo ie being signed off work i’m being very lazy and not getting up and going until late in the afternoon.
In preparation for January, when I will be working 7am-7pm. Yikes. Up until now, I’ve always worked second shift (2-10pm). Don’t know how I’m going to manage it. I guess I’ll start going to bed really, really early. I’m the kind of person who needs tons of sleep or I feel like a zombie.
How do you become a morning person in a way that doesn’t involve large amounts of caffeine?
On the rare occasion that I actually get out of bed at 5:00am, it’s so awesome.. I actually have time to work out in the morning, take a nice, long hot shower, DRY MY HAIR, get my son dressed for school (and me too), eat a decent breakfast and get to work ON TIME…. I keep pushing my alarm clock back ten minutes until I get to 5:00am… Currently, I wake up (read: physically get out of bed) around 6:40am. This one’s going to be tough…
