stop being late for everything

Time, who's got it? I want it. 1 week ago

I’m always late… no matter what i do. There is always more things that needs to be done before getting where I need to be.

I will try to plan my time better and get out earlier.

I hate being late to everything…and I mean EVERYTHING!!!! It’s got to stop if I’m ever going to be a successful person.

by starting out early, i can accomplish more things in a day. that way i can save up on things such as money, time and energy.

Not as late... 16 months ago

I think I am doing better at this… I have definitely been more conscience of it. I have been less late for things, and actually ON TIME for others. I will keep working on this, learning when to stop doing something and what needs to be done to leave, how much time that takes, and planning accordingly. I must cast off this reputation!

Still Struggling 2 years ago

Except for once in each area, we haven’t been getting tardies from school, and I have been getting to work less then five minutes late. This is an improvement for me.
Now I want to focus really hard on being five minutes early for everything instead of just trying to be there right at whatever time.
I am convinced, as I believe I have said before, that the key to solving my problem is to stop what I am doing when it is time to go on to the next task. I often try to finish vacuuming when I know I should be getting the kids to bed, or I get up early enough to get everyone to where they need to go on time, but then I am late because I take the time to start laundry. I need to follow a stricter schedule.

Trying! 2 years ago

Like someone else said, it is about respect.. however, that’s not solely what it’s about. Like another person said, I hate waiting.. however – it affects my job and I’ve been told I have to be at work at 8 the rest of this week (this started today) or I have to do it for the rest of the month – instead of my usual at 8:30.. which is usually almost 8:40. And then.. I didn’t set my alarm. Today I woke up at 8. God, I was pissed. So.. I have to be on time. Have to.. that is the most important thing – earning a paycheck at least. If I can get the office arrival down.. then being on time for personal things should easily be accomplished. Just have to get this one thing set.. Going to bed now.. so I’m not pushing the snooze button 8 thousand times. :)

Be on Time for School 2 years ago

As with my other bigger goals, I have discovered that I need to break this down into steps. Suddenly never being late after years of building this habit is impossible for me. So, I prioritized the things I need to be on time for.

My first mini-goal is being on time for school. I need to drop R. off for school by 8:05 AM. She will earn a tardy if she gets to school after 8:10. The tardies are taken very seriously at her school, and since she has to suffer the consequences for something that is mostly my responsibility, I am making this one my first priority. Ideally, I would like to be dropping her off by 8:00, and then working up to 7:55. I am hoping that this will be achievable as spring approaches and cleaning off the car and warming it up no longer has to be a task preformed before leaving. However, I don’t want to use the weather as an excuse, because responsible people take into consideration things like weather, road conditions, construction, etc.
