I am doing this again in 2013. As a recap, this original title was 50 books in one year and I’ve already met that goal.I keep on adding and adding and I think this year will be my last year of this goal. I think after that I’ll just put up something else from my list and call this one a day. So, so far I’m at one book a week which is what this goal is set up to do. I’ve been listing everything on Goodreads and Librarything and I’ll put the list up here too, most likely I’ll do it when I hit around 26 books. I don’t want to just do the book a week but as many as I can so it would be nice to hit over the 52 mark.

1. Sweetness in the prevailing winds.
2. A last-second jaunt to SOMA, the chocolate lab. We were late and they had closed. But they let us in anyway. We luxuriated.
3. The scent of lilacs when the window is open.
4. Breakfast outside.
5. It’s nice to be the gal who is invited.

PasadenaSue This is the year I face my fears and love myself!
Especially if you are a teacher, or a fan of reading. I just had to share because I saw this and promptly got a huge smile on my face! Enjoy!

Spatz .☆.☆.What a wonderful life.☆.☆.
A few weeks ago, I defended my boundaries with one of the toxic people, and lo and behold, no further attempt to cross them came along.
And just today, after talking to yet another of those people, it dawned on me – it’s never going to be good enough. Everything is always flawed and there’s ample reason to complain and nag with them.
It’s their problem, not mine, and there’s nothing I can do about that. I tried and it only got worse. Way worse.
So, that makes two things I’ve learned in the last month. Who knew?

ranger1138 has four weeks left until she is back in the U.S.
Except I was intending to donate blood to the Red Cross … not to a leech.

The fact that I’m changing my last name everywhere while I go isn’t exactly making this a speedy process.
Another 2 hours down on this tonight. The student loans require signing documents and mailing them with photocopies of other things, etc. Huge pain, but I’ve got the stuff ready to go tomorrow.
I will probably have to pay some of the bills the old fashioned way next month as well, but soon enough they’ll all be through email, direct deposit with my new name, etc. Will be very, very, very nice.

Shakespeare’s Insults: Educating Your Wit, released on a cold and rainy day last November near the art school on Granville Island.
This one was journaled twice this week – first in Vancouver, then in New York. I look forward to christening the new neighbourhood with books. I’d very much like to reach the 100 released goalpost sometime this summer. Anniversary’s on the horizon, that’ll be a good kick-start.

What a lofty goal.
I do my best to not be lazy, well.. Maybe not my best, I think I can do better otherwise this wouldn’t be on here.
To everyone else with the same goal – We won’t all reach it at the same time, and we don’t have the same finish lines – But may we all cross them with grace and pride :).

Now that I’ve finished school, and have my MMA training on track, I’m ready to get that loan all paid off. Wish me luck!

Got home tonight, and discovered that my sweetie had been a one man cyclone! The front hall was clear, the shoes neatly lined up. The kitchen counters clear, though the sink is piled high (empty when i left the house earlier), stairwell empty – it had been a “in transit” zone before, his desk completely empty, the bathroom tidied, etc, etc, etc! Where did it all go? In a huge pile in our living room… *sigh. Happy to have the clear space. Glad he had the energy. Not so excited to be facing sorting through that pile in the next several days. Ah well, the joys of sharing a home with somebody who has an alternate approach.

I actually didn’t make the 50 book challenge for the year of 2009 but I did reach my goal for the year 2010! I read a lot of really great books that I have listed in my Librarything account (if you want to check them out) and I enjoyed the challenge so much that I’m starting it up again this year but this time I’m aiming for a book a week! Hope to have this accomplished.

Well I’m not doing so well but I’ve managed to do some reading. I’m actually writing reviews for each book I read and I post them to my account. I should have about 19 books under my belt but I’m working on book 9. I’m hoping to have my 19 by the end of next month but I will still be playing catch up. Here is my list so far.
1. Dear Mr. Henshaw By Beverly Cleary
2. From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E Frankweiler By E.L. Konigsburg (finish on Wednesday)
3. The Wheel on the School By Meindert Dejong
4. The Judas Treee By A.J. Cronin
5. The Art of Styling Sentences: 20 Patterns for Success By Marie L. Waddell
6. The Dead Zone By Stephen King
7. Eragon by Christopher Paolini
8. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

I have travelled to a few places, maybe I should have said travel more often. With new destinations in mind like Paris.

1. A long walk through the neighbourhood looking for fireworks. (The other kind, at Ashbridge’s Bay, was certainly wiped out by a sudden, intense downpour.)
2. A day of drawing outside, with music and the scent of lilac blooms.
3. Affections, attentions.
4. A brand-new still-in-box crystal serving platter left behind from a yard sale, in a bin labelled “FREE STUFF”.
5. There is one person in the world who can finish a dream that I begin.

This year I have resolved to get rid of as much of my junk as possible. Every month I make sure there’s a day that I devote to sorting through and throwing out or recycling my stuff. It takes discipline but it’s worth it!
